I thought I would spread the love to the game of the year for most gaming websites last year, Call of Duty 4. Call of Duty 4 was able to top Halo 3 for one week in the category of most played Xbox Live game. I actually have arguments with myself to which one is better, but, let’s not get into that….

Stick to the weapon you started with.

I notice when I’m playing online and I get killed, I have a habit of wanting to switch weapons because I think it will help. It probably won’t. When you switch weapons you have to get used to the new one. Its rate of fire, accuracy, power etc. all has to be taken into account. If you still want to switch weapon classes a lot, try to stick to two guns you know very well that way you won’t have a problem.

Perk to the best of your ability.

When creating a class I would recommend thinking through some strategy on what you want that class to accomplish. Do I want to be the rusher? Do I want to camp and pick people off? The choice is up to you. Personally, if I’m going to rush, I would make sure that juggernaut is one of my perks. Some may consider this an n00b thing, but, it does help a lot and gives you chance to react if you are not the first one to shoot. If you want to camp/snipe I would recommend using perks that increase the damage of your bullets. That way, you can take out enemies faster before they can react.

Utilize the map.

If you know the map you are playing on really well, you shouldn’t have a problem with doing what I’m about to suggest. Predict the routes your opponents are going to take. For example, on the new map creek, I have a favorite rock that I love to use my light machine gun at. The enemy always comes running through there and are very easy targets, plus, snipers camp at a hill that is viewable from this spot making them easy targets as well. Can anyone say the word pwned?

In short, the better you want to play the more you have to think.
